We believe in one living and true God who exists eternally in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. God is infinite, omniscient and perfect in all His attributes. God is worthy of our worship, praise, love and faithful obedience.
We believe the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are the inspired Word of God. “All Scripture is God-breathed” (2 Timothy 3:16-17), spoken to human beings under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. Thus, the Bible is inerrant in the original writings; the only infallible rule of faith and practice.
God the Father
We believe the Father is the Creator and Ruler of the Universe. In His sovereignty, He created man and woman in His image. His love for us is demonstrated in the sending of Jesus Christ, His only son, into the world to redeem humanity through the cross. Through His providence, He continues to sustain, guide and govern creation. Through Christ and the leading of the Holy Spirit, the Father saves us from sin, adopts us as sons and daughters and reveals His great love for us.
God the Son
We believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He is “the image of the invisible God and the firstborn of all creation.” (Colossians 1:15) He is co-equal with God the Father. We believe in the deity and humanity of Christ in indivisible oneness. Jesus Christ became a human being while remaining God. We believe he was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He lived a sinless life, performed great miracles, and was obedient to the Father by sacrificially offering His life on the cross as a payment for our sin. He was bodily resurrected and ascended into heaven and is now exalted at the right hand of God where he now mediates as our High Priest, Advocate and Intercessor. One day Jesus Christ will return in power and glory to judge the living and the dead and receive the church, His body, unto Himself.
God the Holy Spirit
We believe the Holy Spirit is co-equal with the Father and the Son. The Holy Spirit convicts men and women of sin. He is the agent of salvation, drawing all believers into the body of Christ, indwelling them and sealing them until the day of redemption. The present ministry of the Holy Spirit enables, instructs and empowers individuals to live the new life of Christ in faith, power, love and obedience.
Sin and Salvation
We believe humanity was created in the image of God but through Adam’s sin, men and women fell, inheriting a sinful nature and became alienated from their God. In this fallen condition, men and women are totally lost and unable to save themselves. We believe Jesus Christ is “the way, the truth and the life” and the only way to salvation. (John 14:6) Salvation is a gift of God’s grace through faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. Led by the Holy Spirit, men and women receive Christ through genuine repentance of sin and are thus regenerated into a predestined new life that increasingly conforms to the image of Jesus Christ.
We believe the church is the body and bride of Jesus Christ, of which He is the head. The church is the family of God and is made of individuals of every tribe, language, people and nation who have put their faith in Jesus Christ. The sacraments of Baptism and the Lord’s Supper are the outward signs of the covenant relationship between God and His people. By the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, believers are adopted into God’s family and are bound together to love and serve one another. The one and only supreme authority for the church is Jesus Christ. All leaders in the local church should meet Biblical requirements for leadership. Members of the church are built together into a spiritual dwelling place for God (1 Peter 2:5) where they are called to worship the risen Christ to the Glory of God, receive instruction in the Word, enjoy fellowship with one another, share the Gospel with a lost and broken world and provide for those in need.
We believe all Christians are called to reflect the life of Jesus by growing as His disciples in faith, character and lifestyle through God’s grace. This will involve the fulfilling of the Great Commandment and the Great Commission in both local spheres of influence and, as the Spirit leads, to the ends of the earth. As one follows Jesus Christ, he or she will manifest the fruit of the Spirit and develop their God-given spiritual gift(s). Followers of Jesus Christ will demonstrate their faith in sacrificial giving of time, talents and financial resources with joy and humility.
We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost. The saved will enjoy eternal fellowship with God and the lost will suffer eternal separation from God. We believe Jesus Christ will one day return in power and glory to fulfill the Kingdom of God on earth as it is in heaven. At the end of time, God will then create a new heaven and a new earth. The New Jerusalem will descend from heaven and God will dwell with his people. There will be no more sin, death, pain or suffering. The River of Life will flow through the middle of the street of this new city. God’s people will see Him face-to-face and “his name will be on their foreheads.” We believe we are to look forward to this glorious future with hope, saying, “Come, Lord Jesus.” Revelation 20-22.
